The status quo must go.
This was the graduating mantra of the Emerge California Class of 2020, in the midst of a global crisis and one of the most divisive, tumultuous election years in recent memory.
At Emerge California, we couldn’t agree more. As an organization that works to change the face of elected power by empowering Democratic women to run for office and win, we were founded on the very notion that the status quo must be disrupted. We knew that it is only when we elect leaders who look like us and know intimately our life experiences, will we be able to realize our vision of a just and equitable future.
And, we were right. After 19 years of recruiting and training Democratic women, Emerge California women have been at the forefront of a seismic shift in who we see and embrace as our elected leaders.
The movement towards a more feminist future takes all of us, and we are so thankful to share our message with Seismic Sisters to fundamentally alter the political landscape as we know it through women’s leadership. The revolution is now, let’s do this.
