KEESA OCAMPO
Keesa Ocampo is the founder of WeSparq - a creative media agency - where she leads an award-winning multicultural team to craft brands and content with impact. WeSparq believes in the power of creating solutions for an evolving audience who is awakened, ready, social, and global, by growing ideas from seeds of diversity, inclusion, and empathy.
WeSparq is behind the social media, messaging, campaigns and design of brands like Planned Parenthood, Save the Bay, Barbara Lee, FARO, Mosaic America and other startups and women- and LGBTQ-founded organizations. WeSparq played a key role in launching the Mosaic Festival in Silicon Valley, which was a milestone in the client’s mission of cultivating belonging in diverse communities through inter-cultural performing arts. Seismic Sisters tapped Ocampo’s creative genius to help take this feminist media start-up to the next level, evolving the look, content, audience and engagement levels.
She is also the founder and CEO of Hara, a sustainable home goods brand that brings the handicrafts by indigenous artisans and women craftsfolk from the Philippines to the world. Its commitment to a short supply chain and the preservation heirloom artforms are central to its purpose.
Keesa started her career in television and became a two-time Emmy Award-winning broadcast television producer, writer and director of food, travel and lifestyle shows. Ocampo shines in front of the camera as well. With WeSparq she created social media campaigns and currently hosts a weekly live-streamed show, Kulinarya Live! for the Filipino Food Movement, a nonprofit client that was honored for its social media content and COVID-19 response programs.
Ocampo carries an expertise in political and charitable fundraising. In 2020 she stepped up as a volunteer advisor to Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, focused on strategic fundraising and outreach. This was prior to the release of the US Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. It’s been all hands on deck since and Ocampo is proud to be in the fight for reproductive rights for all.
Keesa was named one of the ‘100 Most Influential Filipinas in the United States’ by the Filipina Women’s Network and has been recognized for her humanitarian and civic work. An enthusiastic advocate for women’s rights, Ocampo was appointed as a Commissioner on the San Mateo County Commission on the Status of Women from 2011-2014.
